Working with multiple windows can get messy fast. If you need to view two apps side-by-side, macOS makes it easy with Split View. This feature helps you multitask without constantly switching between windows.
1. Open Split View in a Few Clicks
Here’s the easiest way to split your screen:
- Open the first app you want to use.
- Hover your cursor over the green full-screen button (top-left of the window).
- Choose “Tile Window to Left of Screen” or “Tile Window to Right of Screen.”
- Select a second app for the other side of the screen.
Now you have two apps sharing your screen equally!
2. Adjust the Split View Layout
- Drag the divider line in the middle to give one window more space.
- Move your cursor to the top of the screen to show the menu bar.
3. Exit Split View
- Move your cursor to the top of either window.
- Click the green button again to exit full-screen mode.
4. Use Mission Control for More Flexibility
- Press F3 (or Control + Up Arrow) to open Mission Control.
- Drag a window to the top to create a new workspace or combine it with another.
