If you’re a Mac user who often works with multiple windows of the same application, switching between them efficiently can boost your productivity. While Command + Tab allows you to switch between applications, it doesn’t help when you have several windows of the same app open.
To cycle through open windows of the same application, use:
Command (⌘) + ` (Backtick key, above Tab on most keyboards)
This shortcut lets you quickly navigate through different windows of the active app without reaching for the trackpad or mouse. If you have many documents open in apps like Safari, Finder, or Microsoft Word, this shortcut is especially useful.
Bonus Tip:
If you want to see all windows of the current application at once, use:
Control (^) + Down Arrow (↓)
This triggers Mission Control’s App Exposé, displaying all open windows of that app, making it easy to pick the one you need.
